Bob McIlhattan, known as Mack, is an integral leader in each Akoya transaction, with a particular emphasis on thesis development and process execution. Mack has more than 25 years of experience with leading national and global consulting and professional services firms. In the role of vice chairman and CEO of Ernst & Young’s U.S. Consulting Operations, he was responsible for consulting practices accounting for $4 billion in sales. During his career at Ernst & Young, Mack held a variety of leadership roles, including partner, Management Consulting; national director of Performance Improvement Services; and CEO of the High-Growth Middle-Market Practice before taking on the role of CEO of the U.S. consulting practice.

Mack assumed the role of COO for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young LLC in North America in 2000 after the merger of Paris-based Cap Gemini and New York-based Ernst & Young’s Management Consulting Division. As COO, Mack had operating responsibility for all industry segments and service development for the $3 billion U.S., Canada and Mexico operations. During his tenure, Mack streamlined operations and successfully integrated the merged consulting practices, creating cohesive business units generating increased levels of profitability. The acquisition of Ernst & Young Consulting tripled the size of Cap Gemini’s operations in North America and strengthened the company’s position in Europe, making the firm one of the largest strategy, financial services and information technology consultancies in the world.

Mack became president of Charter Consulting in 2002, responsible for creating its growth strategy, expanding Charter’s service offerings and leading the geographic expansion of the firm. Charter Consulting is a leading business consulting firm that was founded in 1997 to provide clients with quantifiable improvements to their top and bottom lines.

Mack has an MBA in finance from the University of Michigan and a BA in metallurgical engineering from Purdue University. He is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
